Zigzag Slotted Antenna with Diagonal Vias for Vehicular Applications

Abstract

The proposed antenna is capable of operating in the range of 2 - 5 GHz. Zigzag slots with diagonal line of vias are cut on the rectangular patch with micro strip feed line given to the zigzag slots placed in four predetermined positions on the patch. High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software was used for design and analysis of the proposed antenna.  Omni directional pattern of radiation was observed in the operating frequency range of 2.45 - 5 GHz. Moreover, efficient gain, return loss and VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) were observed.
