Abstract

Rapid growth of multimedia, storage systems and digital computers has resulted in repositories of multimedia content and large image in recent years. The hospitals with facilities of diagnostic and investigative imaging has been generating huge amount of imaging data that are creating tremendous growth while producing collections of medical image. Hence, effective medical image retrieval system development needed for aid clinicians while browsing such large datasets. Significant objective of this research is to enhance retrieving performance of the Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system by incorporating optimization techniques to predict appropriate centroid in Fuzzy C-means (FCM). The intention to incorporate an optimization technique to predict FCM centroids certainly reduces complexity and computation time. It is evident from previous research Oppositional Crow Search Optimization (OCSO) having better performance over other comparative techniques. The research aims to enhance the performance by incorporating Chimp Optimization Algorithm (ChOA). The performance of the proposed technique unveils the performance of 93.49% that is superior over comparative techniques.
