Performance Enhancement of Large Scale Industrial Processes Using IMC-PI Controller Design
Abstract
Design of higher order multi input multi output processes with Internal model control with decentralized control strategy is proposed in this manuscript. Most of the PI control strategies are fails to regulating setpoint trackingand minimizing error. The basic proposed internal model control (IMC) based PI controller is suitable for improve the servo operation of the system. This method can be applied to one binary distillation column such asVinante and Luyben (VL) and Wood and Berry(WB) . The obtained simulation in proposed control approach is compared with well existing method in the literature, those are simple IMC (SIMC) and biggest log modulus tuning method. In this proposed method PI gain parameters are evaluated for its equivalent transfer functions (ETFs). ETF for a multi variable system is calculated based on relative gain, normalized gain matrices. The calculated PI controller gains are scaled by afilter factor to guarantee the stability of the system. In thisreason proposed IMC PI tuning approach is widely accepted.
