Abstract

In Indiamost used structural systems are multi story reinforced concrete frames.Earthquake and wind are natural holocaust which cause major devastation in multi storey structures. Hence the study of earth quake load on structure is very important to restrain the building from deflection. In the present study, analysis has been carried out by considering the increase in percentages of infill openings. The analysis of the building was done for the following loads self-weight, live load and seismic loading as per IS 1893 (part I): 2012. The effect of seismic load on a building corresponding to the relevant height was analyzed by using STAAD Pro. In this project G+24 storey building was designed with shear wall located at different position of the structural frame. Here infill shear openings with different percentages i.e, 10,20 and 30 were provided. By increasing the percentage of openings, the changes in lateral displacement and storey drift have been observed whichprovidestheoptimum percentage of openings in the shear wall.
