Abstract

In any business organization, business intelligence (BI) plays an important role, for it is used for collecting, integrating, analyzing and transforming data into form(s) which are useful for effective decision making. Organizations collect and use various kinds of data – structured as well as unstructured - like text, e-mails, customer feedbacks, pictures, videos, reports, tables, maps, charts and publications etc. An effective business model is required to use these data to help in decision-making. There is a need to improve the organization's business intelligence process through the exploitation of unstructured data which are possessed by the organization. This paper focuses on data quality and information quality, and its overall impact on the performance of an organization.
