Abstract

A microstrip patch antenna is utilized in a broad variety of applications for ease of design as well as manufacturing. This type of antenna has the advantage of being attractive due to its low conformity design, relatively low cost, and narrow bandwidth. Therefore, microstrip patch antenna modelling is very important for researchers, especially the 3-D finite element analysis. This research is considered as a numerical study of a new microstrip antenna design. In this paper, only one design was modelled, but with specific dimensions, as the geometry of the antenna is rectangular, and it was numerically analysed using the famous COMSOL program, which is considered one of the finite element software of numerical analysis. The main feed point of the antenna is inside the patch in the form of a small rectangle. The computational findings revealed some delightful results for the far-field field and the radiation manner. For this design, the impedance chosen is set to be 50 and the range of frequency selected is set as 1.4. to 1.67 GHz.
