Abstract

Modern application based on IoT sensors/devices is growing in several fields. In several cases, the sensing data needs to be secure in transmission to the control administrator side. This paper proposed a secure Internet of Things data sensing by using lightweight encryption with key generation. The system used three types of sensors (key-flame, Light, door sensors) that connected to Raspberry-Pi which represent the server-side. It connected to the camera responsible for monitoring a specific place. The IoT technique capture image in periodic time as the normal case, while it capturing more depend on three sensors if there are any abnormal event. The captured image encrypted and authenticated using SHA3 message digest. The two results transferring to the client-side. On the receiver side, the decryption algorithm is applied and the hashing applied on the decrypted image and matched with the received one for authentication.  The method provides a high level of security for any sensitive information that may be generated from sensors that may be installed in an important location to protect buildings and offices
