Abstract

: The vertical axis wind turbines are simple, occupy less space, and more efficient in power generation. The design of the wind turbine blade significantly affects its performance and therefore requires investigation. The objective of the current research is to examine the impact of turbine height on the act of vertical axis wind turbines. In the Creo parametrical software the wind turbine model is built and ANSYS CFX simulates CFDs. The turbulence model used for the analysis is k-omega. The pressure developed on the wind turbine increased with an increase in blade height which significantly affected the torque generated by the turbine.
