Building an Effective Data Warehouse for Super Mart

Abstract

In the current era as the data size goes on increasing the data need to handle carefully that is insights from the data, patterns that we find from the data, integration of data from various sources, analyzing the data and generating reports for better decision making. Super Market is having five to six branches in the city of Vijayawada at different locations. The primary moto is to increase the sales of the super market by different strategic decisions which involve arranging of items, proper layout of the store and attracting customers to visit the store and purchase products. Higher level management issues need to addressed and solved by analyzing and generating reports as per their need. In this process need to process the data received from the client by using a database to store the data (SQL Server for processing transactional data), in-order to integrate data of different stores (ETL is used as process that is SSIS for data integration) into one place need to build a warehouse and analyze the data (SSAS for data analysis) which is pulled into warehouse and then finally generating reports (SSRS for Data Reporting) which meets the client requirements. All the processes were in the suit Microsoft Business Intelligent Studio. Association Rule Mining is implemented to identify frequent buying habits of customer’s in-order to place items in the store.
