Abstract

In this paper, a new design of a semi-star patch antenna is simulated and fabricated for Wi-Max applications. The antenna is operated at 5.5 GHz, that is modified tgrough cutting rectangular slot in a ground layer. Patch and ground layer are made of copper material while substrate layer is made of (FR-4) epoxy material with , and loss tangent . The antenna size is (22x26x1.6) mm³. The proposed antenna provides reflection coefficient of -40.48dB. CST STUDIO SUITE 2019 is utilized to simulate the suggested antenna. The suggested antenna is manufactured and experienced practically utilizing Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). The simulation results have reasonable acceptance with the  practical results.
