Abstract

STEM education is a hot spot in the international education reform, marked by the integration of interdisciplinary courses. The new curriculum standard for Primary School Science (2017) in China has added technology and engineering learning fields, and classified three core concepts, and formally introduced STEM education into science curriculum and carried out teaching reform. But the research and practice of STEM education in the United States has passed more than 30 years, but China is still less than ten years. There are various practical difficulties in both theoretical research and understanding, and the introduction and application of practice mode. STEM education, as an educational philosophy or method, should not only be passively accepted and adopted, nor should it blindly pursue the final result, but should be based on a deep understanding of its essence and connotation, and on the premise of the development of students' comprehensive literacy, and combining teaching practice, gradually connecting with the disciplines. It can achieve the function of "integration" of curriculum which adapts to the classroom in our country.
