Abstract

Now-a-days high speed racing bikes can attain speeds of 300kmph; hence, there is a need to lesser dragforce at the rear end of bike. Drag force can be reduced if the weight of rear components of bike gets reduced. Thus, weightoptimizationshouldbetakenatmostcareindesignwithpropertestresults.Inthisdesignadifferentmethodhas been chosen for optimization of swing arm that is generative design. This indicates the need of weightoptimization and design to be made with utmost care. In this design a different method has been chosen foroptimization of swing arm that is generative design. This method quickly generates high-performing designalternatives and with generative design, there are multiple design results with great solutions. So, when optimizedSwing-armisusedthefuelconsumptionofthemotorcyclewillbereduced.Thematerialused inthisisAluminumAlSi10Mg. By using this generative design method, the weight is reduced up-to 43%. In this study two designshavebeenproduced oneisbeforeoptimizationandanotheroneisafteroptimizationofSwingarm.
