Kinetics of the Xylo-oligosaccharides Preparation Through the Propionic Acid Hydrolysis Method
Abstract
This paper studied the effect of reaction time, reaction temperature and propionic acid concentration on the preparation of xylo-oligosaccharides through wheat straw. When wheat straw was used to prepare xylo-oligosaccharides through acidolysis, the kinetic model was first established and then tested through the experiment. The optimum technical parameters for preparing xylo-oligosaccharides were as follows:reaction temperature 80°C, propionic acid concentration 850 g/L, and reaction time 120 min. Within the experiment scope, the apparent activation energy of the prepared xylo-oligosaccharides throughout the acidolysis of the wheat straw was 30.381 kJ/mol. The relationship of reaction rate constant k1, reaction temperatureT, propionic acid concentrationCwas as follows: lnk1= 6.5034+0.0393 lnC-3.654/T.
