Abstract

The Intelligent Transport System (ITS) has been developed over the past decades with emerging technology. It becomes the data-driven ITS because significant amounts of data are gathered from many sources. VehicularAd-hoc networks (VANETs) are new Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) with robust implementations in intelligent traffic management systems. VANET has attracted considerable interest from the wireless connectivity science group. Due to its potential for road protection and preventative measures for drivers and riders, ITS has become one of the most critical research areas. This analysis covered the VANET architecture basic description, networking mechanisms, specifications, features, and VANET security services. Secondly, we discussed the risks and Attacks of VANET defence services and the latest state-of-the-art activities. We analyzed in depth the communication schemes that can secure vehicular networks against hostile nodes and false messages. Thirdly, we spoke about the new simulation techniques and the success of the simulation schemes, accompanied by VANET implementations. Finally, we described the problems of open science and offered prospective recommendations for research. This analysis brings together the void in current studies and summarizes recent study developments. Both protection attacks in VANETs and their associated countermeasures for safe contact are addressed. Authentication systems and extensive implementations have been detailed, applied, and studied. Furthermore, accessible research issues and potential research guidelines have been established.
