Abstract

Smart systems are considered the gateway to smart buildings since it includes various environmental, social and economic potentials, also due to its components its considered a reason of more comfort, safer, rational, conservative, healthy and advanced life, and it’s an important hub for future architecture, This research is concerned with studying the relationship between environmental architecture and smart architecture in order to reach a smart environmental architecture that is more approachable to the environment.

This research’s aims to close the gap between smart architecture and sustainability and clarify the missing concepts about smart architecture that it apparently appears smart in terms of technological advancements but it neglects its role in preserving the environment, Energy saving and dynamic interaction with the environment for the smart building which led to the global delay of Egyptian architecture, the study clarifies the goal of intelligence, which is control. This is in order to enhance positive communication mechanisms between modern technology and environmental architecture for smart architecture that is more compatible with the environment and smarter.  Using an analytical approach to study and evaluate the performance of some environmentally compatible smart buildings (Global and local) Holders of LEED certification, and studying the smart systems inside these buildings and comparing them in a way “Intelligent Building Index” To evaluate the performance of smart sustainable buildings, A comprehensive method for all aspects of evaluating smart buildings that were not covered by other evaluation methods : Technology, environment, architecture, culture, management, economics and work efficiency. From the results of the analytical part on the previous local reality, an introduction to smart and sustainable architecture was devised.
