Understanding Climate Variability and Climate Impacts in Al- Teeb Weir

Abstract

Teeb weir is a one of swarm of hydraulic structures were suggested and designed to reduce flooding risk in Teeb area and to work as a water harvesting system to recharge ground water in the area.
And due to the importance of Al-Teeb Weir, the main climate elements have been studied by taking their data for a number of years, depending on the Meteorological Authority, and we have analyzed them.
We have found that water vapor is a feedback to climate change, evaporation and precipitation balances in steady state, the study has further shown that relative humidity is an indicator or precursor to the occurrence of precipitation and finally the climate in the proposed area of Al-Teeb weir may be classified as Mediterranean sort that is blistering and dry in summer, and cold and muggy in winter.
