Calculation and Analysis of Flow Field of Wind Turbine with Double-Wishbone Type Tip
Abstract
In order to improve the tip flow field of the wind turbine and the output efficiency of the wind turbine, the author designed a new type of wind turbine blade tip with double-wishbone based on Boeing 373 wing with a new, scimitar-shaped split-winglet. A large eddy simulation model was adopted as the turbulence model for the unsteady simulation of three-dimensional flow field, at design conditions. The author compared and analyzed pressure field, velocity field and the vortex field of blades in Fluent. The result shows that after modification the average static pressure increased by 11.4%, the average speed increased by 16.4%, while the average vortex declined by 17.2% at modified tip. It provided a theoretical basis for the feasibility of double-wishbone type tip.
