Analysis and Operating Suggestions on Enterprises’ Misunderstandings about Integration after Cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions

Abstract

At present, along with economic globalization and financial liberalization, there are many cases of cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) worldwide. At the same time, benefiting from China's reform and opening-up, joining WTO, and the rapid development of China's economy in recent 40 years, Chinese companies and capital are "Going Global" faster and faster, and cross-border M&A by Chinese companies are also surging. However, there is a very big difference between cross-border M&A and domestic M&A. Some of these cross-border M&A cases are successful, while some failed. Digging the reasons of success or failure, the integration after cross-border M&A is the key point. This article focuses on the scope of cross-border M&A, and hopes to provide some suggestions for Chinese enterprises about why to emphasize on integration after cross-border M&A, and how to do it well.
